Earlier this month, Yorktown beat Greeley with an incredibly low score of 192 compared to Greeley’s 226. Joe and Kurt Carey shot a 32 and 36, respectively, and Giancarlo Garippa shot a 38.
On Senior Day, the Huskers shot a great score of 214 to beat Putnam Valley, finishing the season 15-2 overall and 8-0 in the League. It’s safe to say the Yorktown Varsity Boys Golf team did themselves very proud.
Kurt and Joe both competed in the Section 1 Golf Championships last week. Kurt managed to finish in the Top 20 while Joe got up to the Top 9 and will be continuing his play at the NYPHSAA State Championships. Kurt and Joe Carey, as well as Ruslan Makarenko and Giancarlo Garippa, are 4 League recipients. Yorktown friends and family are very proud of what they have accomplished.
